Day of Vernal Equinox is celebrated on March 21st of each year.
On this day, the Sun is positioned directly over the Earth's equator. The Vernal Equinox represents one-half of the cycle the other half is known as the Autumn Equinox.
The Day of Vernal Equinox is recognized as a day of the changing of the seasons and an ancient Japanese holiday. This day is a celebration of an ancient Buddhist tale that when the night and day become equal Buddha visits earth for one week to rescue stray souls and lead them to Nirvana. This Buddhist holiday has grown into a social Japanese event.
